While cleaning windows, we will check all caulking and putty seals, replacing and repairing where necessary.

Whether your home boasts original wooden windows that are decades old, often giving unique character to the architecture of the home, or aluminum windows with an acrylic caulking seal, we will verify this seal, and fortify it whenever necessary.

Complementary Quotation

As with all of our complementary quotations, this process begins by meeting with all homeowners, and reviewing the window service project. During this visit, a Scholarly representative will do a thorough walk around of the home with you to determine what areas need cleaning, and also which windows require caulking, puttying, and sealing.

We will explain all the preparation work that is required to ensure our 3-year sealing warranty will hold. Similarly to our painting service, we will fill out a section called project notes. This will include all specific requests or concerns that you have with regards to your project. Whether it be a particular garden you need covered during the work, or electrical lines we will have to work around, we will bring personalized service to every job site.

Window Washing Process

Project Notes: As promised during the estimate a review of the project notes will be the first item completed upon the commencement of your job. As the project manager takes the washers on a walk around, he or she will explain, all client requests and each washer must sign off acknowledging these requests before beginning the window service project.

Safety Check: A thorough safety check of the project will be completed before any ladders are set up. Difficult ladder maneuvers will be discussed and a project plan will be determined to ensure we are completing your job safely and efficiently. Once all washers are aware of potential safety concerns we will set up ladders and begin preparation work.

Caulking & Sealing: Our washers will now seal any cracks in the window area. Cracks between the window and the brick or siding are sealed using premium acrylic caulking with a 35-year product warranty. This comes in the colours white, grey, beige, brown, and black. On older wooden windows, any cracks between the glass pane and the windows are sealed with putty. This also comes in a variety of colours and we are also able to perform paint touch ups for you. Window Washing: Now it’s time to make your windows shine. We use our specialty Scholar At Your Service soap to leave you with a streak-less sparkling shine every time. We also use window razors and stain removers for any difficult spots.  The framing and sill of the windows will be washed down to remove dirt build up, cobwebs, or any mildew present. Once a window has been washed and rinsed, we then dry it using high quality drying blades. The trick to a streakless shine is to never remove the blade from the window surface. If any streaks are left behind, we will rinse your window, and dry it a second time.

Clean Up: We will neatly clean up our equipment and ladders along with any peeling debris or. Our goal is to shine your windows, and leave you property as clean or cleaner than it was before.
